Sierra City

June 20

I didn’t hike a single mile today. Zero days are much appreciated, and for some reason they make me feel really really lazy. I had a 1 pound burger called the gut buster. I think it was the best burger on the trail, and I might have another. The church in town is letting us sleep on their lawn and the Old Sierra City Saloon has a 20 cent jukebox. This town just might suck me back in for another night.

From South Lake Tahoe I hiked with Ryan and Jessi through the Desolation Wilderness up to Donner pass. From there it was a quick two days to Sierra City where I’m sitting now.

Excited to enter the northern California section, yet sad to say goodbye to the high Sierra. If Sierra City is any indication of this next section, I think I’ll be alright.

Also, this happened.

The PCT follows the Tahoe Rim trail for a few miles. We hiked through Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, and Sugarbowl.
